PIERRE, S.D. (12/13/22) – South Dakota Housing’s Board of Commissioners today awarded nearly $2.2 million to assist South Dakotans who are homeless, at-risk of homelessness or fleeing domestic violence or human trafficking, by financing the development of non-congregate shelters and providing financial assistance for support services. The $2.18 million dollars in HOME-American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) funding is in addition to the previously announced, competitively awarded $5.7 million.

South Dakota Housing Development Authority’s Board of Commissioners recently awarded more than $13 million to assist South Dakotans with newly constructed multifamily housing, single family housing, homebuyer assistance, homeowner rehabilitation, and homelessness prevention.

South Dakota Housing presented its “Friend of Housing” Award to Tawney Brunsch at the annual statewide housing conference. South Dakota Housing presents the award annually to an individual who has made a commitment to affordable housing in South Dakota through their contributions, achievements and vision.

South Dakota Housing’s annual housing conference included the recognition of an individual for her commitment to affordable rental housing in South Dakota. Joyce Weidner, site manager for Lamro Apartments in Winner, received the award at SDHDA’s award luncheon.

South Dakota Housing today recognized the seven top loan originators of its homeownership loan programs. These programs provide affordable homeownership financing opportunities, which in turn provides security for families, stabilization for communities and the foundation from which dreams are built upon.

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium (SDHHC) is currently soliciting pre-applications from agencies interested in providing housing opportunities designed to resolve homelessness experiences for individuals and families. Applicants interested in developing permanent supportive housing opportunities, should contact SDHHC and make plans to complete the pre-application for the 2022 Continuum of Care Competition.
